Q: What is the office hour of the health center responsible for the medical emergency in the campus of NTU?
A: The office hour of the health center responsible for the medical emergency in the campus of NTU is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Q: How to call for help when medical emergency happens?
A: In office hours, please call 02-3366-9595 (local call) or 69595 (campus extension of NTU) for contacting the health center. You can also call 119 for help. Both parties will provide rescue service at the same time. In non-office time such as night, national holidays, and holidays indicated by NTU, please call 119 for medical assistance for medical emergencies.

Q: Can I call for ambulance if I feel sick?
A: We hope to preserve the resources of medical emergencies for patients in danger (such as acute myocardial infarction, epilepsy, falling down from the building, and shock). Therefore, when you are contacting the health center, the medical staff will understand your situation through the phone. If your situation is not emergent and you can go to the hospital yourself (or with the help of friends and teachers), we hope you can leave the resource of ambulance for those patients with medical emergencies.

Q: Can I enjoy the emergency service of the health center as soon as I arrive at the center?
A: Actually, the health center does not provide complete emergency service. Instead, we provide the first-line treatment for medical emergencies based on our duty of guarding the health in the campus.
When you feel sick and come to the health center, please visit the therapeutic room at the right side of the 1st floor. The nursing staff on duty will evaluate your illness in office hours.
If you suffer from medical emergencies, the nursing staff will ask the doctor on duty to deal with your emergencies as soon as possible; or they will help you with the emergencies first and ask you to register before the doctor examine your situation.

Q: After the initial treatment of the nursing staff, how can I see the doctor as soon as possible, if it will take a long time to see the doctor of the health center?
A: All medical institutes in Taiwan have specific time for outpatient services so that they can arrange medical and other affairs, and the health center is no exception. If you feel sick, you can register at the health center for outpatient services. If you do not suffer from medical emergencies but you hope to see the doctor soon, you can think of seeing doctors at other clinics near NTU.

Q: What clinics are near NTU? May I learn the information?
A: Please downlaod the file to learn more information about the clinics near NTU.

Q: I feel sick and go to the health center. The doctor examines my situation and thinks I am an emergency case. Why can’t I call for the ambulance?
A: Based on the same principle mentioned above, we hope to preserve the resources of medical emergencies for patients in danger. When you need fast medical treatment but do not have fatal emergencies, we might ask you to leave for medical institutes yourself (or with the help of friends and teachers), so that the resource of ambulance is left for those patients with medical emergencies.

Q: I go to the health center after class and find the health center is closed. What can I do?
A: The office hour of the health center is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you cannot come to the health center before 5 p.m., please go to ordinary clinics or hospitals near NTU directly. (the clinics near NTU are listed above)
